Reservation Terms & Conditions
1. Terms
All reservations for Scholars Restaurant, provisional or confirmed, are made upon, and are subject to, the following Terms & Conditions and no variation thereof will be accepted unless agreed in writing with Blackburn College. Written confirmation (via email or post) will confirm acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
2. Interpretation
“Scholars Restaurant” refers to the training restaurant operated by Blackburn College
“Client” means the person, firm or company with a confirmed reservation with Scholars Restaurant.
“No show” refers to non-attendance for a reservation without notification from the Client.
3. Law
These Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted according to English Law.
4. Confirmation and Deposit
For reservations a deposit of £10 per person will be required upon booking to guarantee any reservation.
All deposits and payments can be paid by credit card, debit card or in cash.
5. Cancellation
This deposit will be non-refundable if cancellation is within 48 hours of your booking. If your cancellation is notified to us more than 48 hours ahead of your booking, we will return your full deposit.
Scholars Restaurant will be entitled to cancel the booking at any time by written notice to the Client, if the Client is in breach of its obligations under these Terms & Conditions. If the booking is cancelled by Scholars Restaurant, your deposit will be returned in full.
6. Service Charge
There are no service charges.
7. Allergens
Clients with any known allergies must notify the Restaurant Manager at the earliest opportunity. To guarantee availability of a suitable dish we will require this information at the time of booking, please also inform a member of staff upon arrival.
Scholars Restaurant is proud that the chefs prepare and cook all food on the premises and often using ingredients from a variety of sources. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that all meals prepared and cooked by Scholars Restaurant are 100% free from the following ingredients and their derivatives. We aim to provide clear allergen information for all of the dishes and an allergen matrix is available upon request. Scholars Restaurant follows an Allergen Control Plan which is continuously reviewed and updated.
We use nuts, fish, egg, shellfish, dairy and gluten products within our kitchen and it is impossible to fully guarantee separation of these items in storage, preparation or cooking. Please speak with the Restaurant Manager who will be happy to accommodate any sensitivity to these products listed below. We take our guests requirements very seriously and our chefs have taken Food Standards Agency training on allergens.
Allergens used in our dishes may include any of the recognised allergens which are: peanuts, nuts, fish, eggs, shellfish, sesame seeds, dairy products, soy beans, celery, mustard, lupin, molluscs, gluten and sulphites.
Our meat, game, fish and vegetables are all sourced from local, sustainable and ethical suppliers. Whilst every effort is made to ensure all bones and shot are removed during the preparation process Scholars Restaurant cannot wholly guarantee that all dishes will be 100% free from these items and guests should take the usual amount of care when consuming relevant products.
8. Scholars Restaurant Premises and the wider College campus
The Client will ensure that:
- No damage is caused to any fittings, decorations and furnishings.
- The conduct of its guests does not cause any nuisance or offence to other persons or guests
- Any items belonging to the restaurant remain on the premises.
- The guests fully comply with emergency procedures should the need arise
- Any known allergies are communicated to the Restaurant Manager at the earliest possible opportunity
9. Voucher Terms & Conditions
- Gift Vouchers cannot be extended, are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- All Gift Vouchers must be used in full. No change or Gift Voucher for unused differences can be issued.
- When making a reservation/booking the booking must be made in advance & the Gift Voucher number must be quoted.
- The actual Gift Voucher must be presented on arrival.
- Any reservation made using a Gift Voucher will be subject to our normal booking policy. Gift Voucher will be automatically redeemed in the case of a ‘no show’.
- Each Gift Voucher will be valid for a single redemption only.
- All bookings are subject to availability and change.
- Gift Vouchers are valid from the date of purchase until the expiry date.
- When using Gift Vouchers, you must call and make a reservation quoting the voucher number. On arrival, please present the Gift Voucher for validation. We reserve the right to refuse payment by Gift Voucher if a reservation has not been made or the Gift Voucher is not presented.
- All website payments are processed securely by WorldPay and no private information is held by Scholars Restaurant or Blackburn College.
